In honor of the 50th birthday of the Ombres Blanches (« White Shadow ») book store situated in Toulouse, France, this linocut shows very explicitly a black Sun with its white shadow, thus directly paying tribute to the place. The lines surounding the Sun take back to the lines of words we can read in the many books offered by the place, creating the illusion of an eye with two pupils, and then affirming on one hand the importance of the eye and on the other the open-mindedness you get by reading.
